On the West Coast, Europe is far away (for English speaking people)

Today was cloudy in LA. The temperature is pleasant. I had to go to a supermarket named Trader Joe's, very Californian, with their own products, their ecology and the absence of such well-known brands. As usual, there is not many people on the street, although it is Hollywood, what we would call a neighborhood. A big, extensive and flat neighborhood with some hills. There is a group of four men, if the conflict in Vietnam were not far away, I would say the clock has been stopped. One is on a wheelchair, one is a  black man and he said to me  "nice shirt". The truth is it is a regular pole shirt.
At a bus stop, on a side street, a shopping cart was parked. Full of things. A variety of objects inside, winter clothing, tools, hats, all very used. Hanging plastic bags tied to the bars. The owner still sleeps in his makeshift bed bus stop. A homeless happy to get up from his bed. For him the day starts.

This great America is capable of anything! The federal government is shutdown and politicians do not find a solution. The homeless people have other problems. I guess they can controlled not to be mind by any authority.

In a kind of bar, open, I get musical sounds. I think it's music of Ellington in the 30s. That time of depression and hope. While the homeless stretches, he starts dancing or something at the rate of mixing jazz and blues running through his veins. Soon he will be launched, although the government is closed, yours is still open.

I wonder what would happen if a shutdown comes in Europe or Spain. Here you can ask about Europe which  practically does not exist for them. People did look to the West. USA looks to the Pacific, China, Japan or Australia. They know about our topics, our fights,. They discovered that occasionally they have to come to our rescue and little else. As they are very practical they do not understand our intellectuals aspects. Occasionally a European player is very good, a rare filmmaker or an actress who most stylish naked. But the Dodgers are more popular than Real Madrid and  Lakers are back. They talk about sports world champions though they are just the U.S..

What a curious concept of the roundness of the Earth!
