The president of the U.S. visited the Pope in Rome.
Apparently, he is a religious man, I say apparently, because as a candidate or president , he had to make winks to the electorate in that sense, also, take the hand of her wife and show the world how well they get along . A single man, candidate for president, probably would not pass this test.
Obviously, he will be impressed by the beauty of the Vatican and I guess he will visit the Sistine chapel quiet and much longer than the crowded tourists everyday. I do not know what culture Mr. Obama has , perhaps the average American level plus the experience of nearly six years as president ? What is what has impressed you the most? Will you ask to see something special?
At least among his political trip to Europe he will have the opportunity for a private meeting with the Pope, they will not be alone and the interpreter, " traduttore traditore ", will put the right words in the context.
The current Pope is not a pope armor as Julius II, who not only fought with the genius of Michelangelo, or a pope intriguing, he is a Pope who did not want to be a pope and ultimately decided to be what God wants. In this Mr. Obama and he do not seem to be alike. The president wanted very much to be president, and surely, poor little thing, he has fulfilled his dream.
Both are apparently very powerful and with unique influence and both men defend freedom. The advantage is that the tenant in Santa Maria, his Roman residence, supports the freedom of speech without retouching and has a lot of credibility, with ones and others. Native from a country of many seizures, he has the privilege of not relying on the matters of this material world and yet he suffers trying to improve it.
I do not think the American president will ask for any advice to the Argentine Jesuit butthe Pope would probably say, "do what you think is best and pray to God my son Do you pray much Mr. President? Do you believe? In what?
