A sparrow in the snow and an espresso.

When you contemplate a sparrow in the snow, on a clear blue day, you realize the smallness of the bird and the grandeur of nature. He is very weak, with very fine legs and in the hardness of winte he is looking for food, whatever, because he need to eat to stay alive. It is said they do not hurry because the God of heaven feeds them. It is the case they survive and also die. We do not know if they suffer too, they do not laugh, but they take it with great dignity.
People are asking for help on the streets with cold and rain because they want something to eat, they do not laugh either, altough it is a human peculiarity, and they carry their destiny with human dignity. And I do not know if we have hardened our hearts and no longer the pity touch our sensibility, because it is real, it is not a movie.
In these Holiday season we watch Christmas films, one of them is "It's a wonderful life!", that here in spanish is called ¡ Qué bello es vivir ! which is mistranslated as it happens many times. It's a little spirit of Capra's spirit in his version of the American Dream. Another of his films "You cann't take it with you", it is called in Spanish "Vive como quieras"; in this case a translation to attract or impact, and this movie also speaks of sparrows which want to eat and live, they do not worry too much because they want to be happy first.
After all the human beings do not need much to live, however we have put ourselves into a maelstrom of superfluous needs, although if we accumulate large amounts we can not take them with us, we can take only the friendship of our friends, the love and things that have great value, but do not fit in briefcases.
Surely when I was enjoying an expresso in the Gran Caffe Gambrinus in Piazza del Plebiscito in Naples, the little sparrow stared at me because we were both enjoying simple things and his were free and he was happy, very happy.
