Nobody remembers "D" day or the precipice of Europeans (II) (for English speaking people)

69 years ago took place the Normandy landing. It was necessary to reach the heart of Germany.
This number, sometimes magical in other circumstances, did not bring out a memory, a reflection in the media, yesterday. It may be too much in the middle of the crisis, we do not give more.
The allies in WWII, the democracies plus the Soviet totalitarianism, wanted to give the final blow to the totalitarianism of the man with the small odd mustache; who was not Charlie Chaplin, although the genius had brilliantly got the dangerous spirit.
Spain, poor and neglected, remained as an island, seeking for supplies and surviving, confused and divided. Would it have been better for us to participate in that landing in some way? Defending or attacking? You never now. There are countries in Europe starting the two World Wars in the winning side, ending in the winning side contemplating how sides change. Amazing !
All European inconsistencies fit in a World War II review.
Similar cultures confronted;  democratic principles joined dictatorships against democratically elected dictators. Ancestral kinship ties facing a deathly game. Pacts that never would be fulfilled, promises on paper and everybody was afraid, very afraid. Allies who signed treaties and were eager to break them. Justifications which were unjustifiable, flouted and betrayals.
A king of England supporting the man with the small odd mustache and a very, very mature English politician who has only one fear and do whatever it takes to remove it from his sight.
Only the young or old one who fell in the battle field, concentration death camps, in hiding, under a bomber or a rocket, know the truth of why they died. Or maybe not.
Peace arrived, although it is never peace but hostilities continuing in a different way.
One of totalitarianism  imposed its style and influence in much of the world, thanks to the very, very mature English politician, and even the idea was considered cool in Europe. Then it disappeared and  movies are not made on the subject because it has no glamour anymore. The others, the big losers, disappeared; reappearing with sporadic nostalgic people. If they make movies about the theme, it is because it's cool for the camera and dealt from any point of view. Both totalitarianism should produce panic.
What would the very, very mature English politician think in our days?
Should not be enough the foolish examples  to go back to basics?
Fear, another kind of fear, continues to exist and do not allow us to react.

A little bit of please!
